Free tax filing through OneSource
Servicemembers are eligible for free use of H&R Block's online tax filing through the Military OneSource Web site. Registration and access to the H&R Block service must be accomplished with OneSource to avoid a filing fee. Click here for more information at the OneSource site.
Airmen now eligible for TriCare 180 days prior to deployment
Reservists who are placed on orders in support of a contingency for more than 30 days are now entitled to TriCare coverage for themselves and their families 180 days prior to the effective date of their orders, while they are on orders and for 180 days after their orders expire. CAC readers needed for Portal access
Common Access Card readers are now required for gaining access to the Air Force Portal and ARCNet. Reservists needing CAC readers and installation guidance for their home computers should visit the 931st Communications office. Call (316) 759-5832 for more information.
ABU purses not authorized
ABU pattern purses that are showing up in some military clothing stores are not authorized to be carried in uniform. Black is the only color purse female Airmen are allowed to carry in any uniform combination.
ESGR accepting Freedom Award nominations
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense agency, is taking nominations until Jan. 18 for the 2010 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. Reserve members and their families are encouraged to nominate employers who have done an exceptional job in supporting their military employees.
